Celadon Porcelain Candle — Green Tea & Orange Blossom

青瓷 — Celadon — is the oldest continuous glazing tradition 
in Chinese ceramics. Its colour is not green, not grey, not blue 
— it is all of them and none of them, shifting the way the 
surface of still water shifts with the light. Poets compared it 
to mountain haze at dusk. To new grass in first spring.

The clay is selected for its fineness of grain. The glaze — 
derived from mineral ash and iron oxide — is applied in thin 
layers and fired at temperatures that would destroy most other 
ceramics. What emerges is smooth, cool to the touch, 
luminous from within.

This bowl is hand-thrown in the celadon tradition, with a 
shallow octagonal form that references classical Scholar's taste.
Not pressed. Not moulded. Thrown by hand, fired once.

The Scent: Green Tea & Orange Blossom — 绿茶橙花

Opens with lemon and yuzu. A heart of green tea, 
jasmine and violet. A base of warm musk and amber. 
The scent of a room that has been sunlit for exactly 
the right amount of time.

When the wax is spent, the bowl remains — a hand-fired porcelain 
piece to be kept, used, or gifted again.
